 03/25/2003: BHUTAN

The Captain We had to promise Rinpoche to take a group picture at every site. Here in Paro Dzong. The National Museum in Paro / Bhutan. The monks of Je Khenpo. In the middle of a "Red Sea". With the Bhutanese Princess. Majestic big Buildings - the Dzongs. Everywhere finest craftmanship. High on a Himalaya-Pass - much space! We used the evenings for meetinge, international exchange and Questions & Answers Ancient Monestaries. Blessing that one could cut. Lopön Tsechu lived here when he was about 12 to 13 years old. Now we know why his mind became like it is today. The Takzang Monestary, the so called "Tigernest". With Karmapa in Kalimpong, India! One of the nicest flights on earth: from Kathmandu along the Himalayas to Paro/Buthan.

Bhutan touched us deeply. This secret country knows what it has to protect. And Rinpoche opened the gates for 72 Diamond Way students, representing our 400 Diamond Way Centers.

What we experienced was simply fantastic. Maggie, Gergö and Hans had organized everything in the best possible way, so we could enjoy this purely Buddhist country from the first moment on.

The historical places were alive and took our breath away again and again. After one week we all knew why Rinpoche had invited us on this trip. A huge task is waiting for us: to permanently establish Buddhism in the West. Our party at the end in Kalimpong sealed the wish to succeed in this together, across all limits.
