Diamond Way Buddhist Centers around the world
Lama Ole Nydahl has founded more than six hundred lay centers for Diamond Way Buddhism of the Karma Kagyu lineage, which are under the patronage of H.H. 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje. Our Buddhist centers are set up to make access to Buddha’s timeless wisdom approachable and relevant to modern people. With a strong emphasis on friendship and getting to know each other, they are friendly and sociable places, where those new to Buddhism and students practising for a long time all meditate together, share experience, and actively participate in the center activities. With centers in so many countries, it should be easy to find a Buddhist center near you.
All of Lama Ole’s centers offer free guided meditation classes for the public; larger places often have daily meditations. Some of our centers specialize in offering conditions for doing meditation retreats for a few days or even longer. Some centers have academic functions, where you can do study courses. Buddhist meditation courses are held in or organized by our centers on a regular basis, where one of our lamas will visit to give teachings or empowerments. Lectures are held regularly in and around the centres by our lay Buddhist teachers, to give explanations about Buddhism and Buddhist meditation practices.
