In 1968 while traveling in India and Nepal, Ole and his wife Hannah met his Holiness the 16th Karmapa the first incarnate lama of Tibet. The Karmapa chose Ole and Hannah to be his first Western students and after three years in the Himalayas, he conferred upon Ole the title of 'Lama' which means teacher.

The Karmapa directed Lama Ole and Hannah to bring traditional Tibetan teachings to the west, and since 1972, over 200 Diamond Way Buddhist Centres have been established world wide. lama Ole and Hannah travel continuously, teaching and guiding lay practiciioners in the practice of Diamond Way Buddhist meditation for greater awareness and joy in everyday life.

As well as these videos, Lama Ole is the author of several books translated into many languages: Entering the Diamond Way; Mahamudra; Ngondro; Riding the Tiger; The Way Things are, all published by Blue Dolphin Publishing, CA (USA).
